Here’s what to expect on Sunday mornings for worship: come as you are! You will be welcomed as our guest at the front entrance by one of our greeters who is ready and willing to answer any of your questions. A typical worship service lasts about 60 to 75 minutes. There is childcare available for infants up to three years old, and there is also a special time for children during our worship service.”

Pastor Kevin VaLeu

Pastor Kevin VaLeu’s spiritual journey began at the age of five with a significant encounter with the Holy Spirit in his living room, shaping the foundation of his faith. Raised by a single mother in Dallas City, Illinois, he navigated 15 years without formal discipleship until God guided him toward a transformative path.

As a 400M hurdler at the University of Northern Iowa, he crossed paths with a future church planter who helped him deepen his understanding of ministry. After earning his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Pastor Kevin and his wife, Tracy, have dedicated over 20 years to serving in various capacities in churches across Iowa, Graham (NC), Greensboro, and now New Bern (NC).

His experiences inspire a strong commitment to one-on-one and small group discipleship, counseling, and outreach to the unchurched and those facing hardships. He is passionate about preaching messages of hope and resilience, as well as mentoring the next generation of leaders to make a positive impact in Craven County and beyond.

Outside of ministry, Pastor Kevin enjoys sports, running, and reading. Known for his approachable nature, he values building genuine connections with others.

He and Tracy have four children and four granddaughters.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the infallible, inerrant Word of God.

  • The integrity of the Bible has been divinely protected through the ages.

  • In the Trinity: One God who reveals Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • In the deity of Jesus Christ: His virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death on the cross as payment for sin, bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of God the Father.

  • In the forgiveness of sin only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.

  • That salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ – He is the only way to heaven.

  • That salvation cannot be lost.

  • That Jesus Christ established two ordinances for the local church: Believer’s Baptism, and The Lord’s Supper or Communion.

  • In the Rapture of the church, when Jesus takes all true Believers to be with Him.

  • That Jesus Christ will return.
